You should absolutely work with your medical doctor… but you also need to know how to be your own best advocate.
Unfortunately, what I’ve found in most cases is that it’s more of a driver/passenger relationship people have with their doctors. And sometimes the driver hasn’t fully evaluated where you (the passenger) is at to know where you need to go, before making a decision on the best route to take.
Even if you’ve known your doctor for a long time. Things can be missed. Root cause issues can be overlooked — even things as simple as nutrient deficiencies. On top of that, doctors don’t have the time to take you through the diet and lifestyle changes that could possibly be more effective than anything they have to offer, which is often just symptom management.
Nor do they have the time to look at and recommend adjunct therapies that can often heal better, without the collateral damage that often comes with mainstream medicine. Or can help the mainstream protocol work better.
