Lab results can be incredibly helpful — and surprisingly confusing at the same time.
Comprehensive lab testing has become much more accessible over the past few years — and I truly think that’s a good thing!
Companies like Function Health and other large lab platforms are offering broad panels at reasonable prices, giving people access to information that used to be difficult or expensive to obtain.
The labs themselves are often excellent.
But here’s what I see happen over and over again…
Someone receives pages of results, a beautifully organized report, maybe even color-coded explanations — and then they’re left wondering:
What actually matters here?
Where do I start?
Are these results connected?
Do I change my diet? Take supplements? Retest? Wait?
In other words:
You have the data — but not the roadmap.
And this isn’t a flaw in the labs.
It’s simply the limit of what a lab company can do.
A report cannot know:
- your health history
- your previous lab trends
- your diet and lifestyle
- your stress load or sleep patterns
- your digestion and nutrient status
- or how your hormones are shifting through different life stages
Labs are not meant to exist in isolation.
Numbers alone don’t tell the full story.
They are pieces of a larger puzzle.
This is where my work comes in.
I pair the hard data from your labs with:
- your lab history
- health history
- diet
- lifestyle
- stress
- digestion
- hormone picture
to create a comprehensive framework — so your results actually mean something in real life.
This approach applies to people (men Included) of all ages, though women moving through perimenopause and menopause often have more layers and nuance that require deeper interpretation and prioritization.
My goal is simple:
To help you understand what your body is telling you, connect the dots, and create clear next steps that feel realistic and sustainable. (to get started, book a call with me using the button below)
Labs give us information.
Context gives that information meaning.
P.S. If you already have labs and aren’t sure what to make of them, or if you’re wondering which testing actually makes sense for you before ordering anything, you can simply reply to this email and tell me a little about where you’re stuck. I’m always happy to point you in the right direction.
