What is Functional Medicine

Functional Medicine is a branch of medicine that looks at the body as a whole integrative system. It’s scientifically based and the Functional Medicine (FM) community includes many doctors and practitioners who’ve been conventionally trained.

The main difference between conventional medicine and functional medicine is that conventional medicine focuses on the WHAT and treating the symptoms while Functional medicine asks the WHY. It views the body as a whole system, focusing on healing from the root cause of a disease.

Functional Medicine practitioners look to create health rather than to fix disease. It’s essentially the science of creating health and is the future of sustainable healthcare. Masking symptoms with medications and procedures is failing us miserably and is levying a hefty cost on our healthcare system and our quality of life.

It’s time to stop treating the symptoms and treat the whole person.  As a Functional Medicine nutritionist, this is my approach with all clients that seek my help.

Functional Medicine practitioners have been coined as “Root Cause Rebels”.

We all deserve to feel vital and happy at any age. I’d like to help make that a reality for you.
