Your skin says a lot about your nutrient and hormonal status and what’s going on with your gut. And while I always encourage finding help to get all these in order, it’s also very nice to know that we can get a little help from topical lotions and potions.

Our skin is our largest detoxification organ, which also makes it the largest organ to absorb toxins AND nutrients. I’ve made a conscious effort to recommend products that do not have parabens, artificial fragrances, and other ingredients that are either harsh or increase  the toxic burden.

DIY Healing Moisturizer

DIY Moisturizer

I’ve came up with this unique and lovely smelling concoction to moisturize and heal my skin. It includes a delivery oil that has anti-oxidant properties, a spore-based probiotic, and a light scent.

Applying  a probiotic directly to the skin is a magic tool for healing eczema and other skin rashes. Megasporebiotic, is hands down my favorite recommendation for internal and external use.

I top it off with a  little ‘smell good’, by elizabeth W’s Leaves body oil to the mix.

Indigo Calm Balm

I recommend this soothing and healing balm to all my clients with eczema and rosecea.

It’s safe for the elderly, children and infants.

It contains probiotics to help balance and restore our skin’s microbiome (yes we have a microbiome on our skin, not just our gut) along with calming chamomile, colloidal oats, shea butter, olive oil, and many more ingredients to heal and soothe.

Julva is a cream for our delicate feminine parts.

Many women  experience vaginal dryness due to hormonal changes after childbirth, taking the pill, or moving into menopause and post menopause.

This amazing cream is for any women who would like a little more juiciness and comfort.  It can also help with incontinence. It’s formulated by a OBGYN and is one of my most favorite finds for myself and my clients.

  • Soothing – moisturizing, provides increased overall comfort and reduced pain during sexual activity; pleasant smell and easy to use
  • Repairing – improved skin elasticity; increased collagen production.
  • Rejuvenating – improved tissue and urine control; increased lubrication and sexual pleasure.

I’m enjoying and appreciating  many of the skin products that have been created with love and care by Ellie, of Skin Probiotics. They’re made in small batches and contain the best natural ingredients to soothe and heal your skin.

Some of my favorites:

  • Gentle Moisturizing Lotion: soothing for those who have eczema and psoriasis & gentle enough for infants
  • Collagen anti-aging serum
  • Fresh scented deodorant

Non-Toxic Sunscreen

Drunk Elephant

Sunscreens are not created equal.

The active ingredients in many of the sunscreens you might be using can be absorbed into the blood at levels that exceed what the FDA deems “safe.”  many of our current sunscreen options can be laced with harmful chemicals.

Sweet Smelling Pits

Schmidt’s Deordorant

Having sweet smelling pits without a whole bunch of nasty ingredients that your skin absorbs is important. The Schmidts brand does a pretty good job and doesn’t contain polysorbate 60 (preservative).

There are lots of flavors but I like this one the best. I recommend staying away from the charcoal just because it does a number on staining clothes.

Skin Friendly Make-up

W3LL People

W3LL PEOPLE get my vote for make-up sans ingredients that cause inflammation and increase the toxic load.

I personally use their medium tinted foundation and mascara and am loving the coverage.
